Disneyland’s Candlelight Processional: Anticipating the Official 2025 Announcement
The beloved annual Candlelight Processional is expected to return to Disneyland during the first full weekend in December. This event features a spectacular 600-member choir that fills the Anaheim theme park with seasonal songs, officially kicking off the Christmas spirit for thousands of holiday fans.

Invited guests are expected to enjoy the Candlelight Processional at Disneyland on December 6th and 7th. According to OC Register, there will be two performances each evening, scheduled for 5:30 p.m. and 7:45 p.m.
Although the Candlelight Processional is technically viewable by all Disneyland guests, the park does minimal promotion for the event, as it is primarily intended for invited guests and VIPs. This lack of managed awareness often leads to significant crowd and traffic problems near the front entrance.

The Candlelight Processional brings the story of Christmas to life with dozens of choir groups gathered on a stage in front of the Disneyland train station. Hundreds of community members attend this annual event, filling the special seating area set up in Town Square for the holiday season. Because this popular event causes heavy foot traffic near the main entrance, backstage passageways behind the Main Street, U.S.A. shops are usually opened during performances to help ease congestion in this high-traffic area.
The Disneyland Candlelight Ceremony tradition was started in 1958 by Walt Disney as a way to thank the Orange County community, home to his first theme park. Every year, the cast features a massive chorus, including Disney employees and members of local community choirs, who perform alongside a live orchestra, handbell players, and fanfare trumpeters.
A celebrity narrator, whose identity is kept a complete surprise until the first show, traditionally tells the story of the first Christmas between songs. This role has historically been filled by an impressive list of stars, including Cary Grant, John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart, Gregory Peck, Charlton Heston, Henry Fonda, Dick Van Dyke, and more recently, Chris Hemsworth, Viola Davis, Chris Pratt, Brie Larson, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and James Earl Jones.
