Ralph Breaks the Internet

Ralph Breaks the Internet for a Third Time!

Ralph Breaks the internet for a third time in a row at the box office.  Even though there was no new releases at the box office this weekend this internet sensation has not run out of lives yet!  The animated film, starring John C. Reilly as Wreck it Ralph and Sarah Silverman as Vanellope, features the dynamic videogame friends who embark on a journey of self-discovery in cyberspace.

The popular pals will edge out fellow animated film The Grinch to claim the number one spot again for a third week.  Shown at 3, 795 theaters in the United States and Canada, Ralph Breaks the Internet will bring in an estimated $16.1 million.  After this weekend this will bring the film’s domestic total to $140.9 million, plus an estimated $34.1 million overseas, for a worldwide total of $258.2 million.  We say that is definitely enough to break the internet and we don’t need Felix to fix it this time!

Ralph and other top 10 box office films may have a run for their money due to the overall box office up 9.9 percent year-to-date and growing.  With next weekend’s multiplex offerings of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Moral Engines, Ralph may be bumped out of the top spot.  However, Ralph will more than likely meet his match the week of December 17-21.  During this week movie theaters will debut Mary Poppins Returns, Aquaman, and Bumblebee.  I know I will be front and center for Mary Poppins Returns on December 19th!!  For now, take a look at the top 10 films at the box office for December 7-9.

  1. Ralph Breaks the Internet-$16.1 million
  2. The Grinch– $15.2 million
  3. Creed II– $10.3 million
  4. Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald– $6.8 million
