Put Some Rum in Your Dole Whip and Drink it All Up

Dole Whip is arguably one of the top fan-favorite Disney treats. They have come out with a few fun new variations of this whipped delight. “I Lava You” is one of the new creations that can be found at the Pineapple Lanai at Disney’s Polynesian. It consists of an orange dole whip float with strawberry Fanta Soda and topped with pop rocks and a red passion fruit syrup and you can get it spiked with Parrot Bay Coconut Rum. I like the more traditional pineapple dole whip with the coconut rum. I have made this a few times at home and love it. If you want to make this treat at home here is how.

What you will need to make this is a blender first off. Now I have used fresh pineapple, cut it up and froze it. I have also used bagged already frozen pineapple. They also make a frozen dole whip you can buy in some grocery stores if you want to get that and make it with the rum. No judgment only ideas.

But if you are making it from scratch you need 5 cups of frozen pineapple, 1/4 cup of sweetened condensed milk. 3/4 a cup of coconut milk and 1/2 cup of coconut rum… or more.  I personally like to use Malibu Coconut Rum in mine, Disney uses the Parrot Bay Coconut Rum. Add the ingredients in a blender until well blended. Pretty simple. If you want to get fancy with it you can then pour it into a zip lock bag cut a tip and pipe it into your glass. You can enjoy it alone, or make it into a float adding a little extra rum or soda into a cup. Garnish it if you want with some pineapple or cherries, or maybe even try the pop rocks out. Enjoy!
