The shop will take over the space formerly occupied by Melissa Shoes in the Town Center area, conveniently located near Anthropologie. While we don’t have an official opening date yet, the buzz is already building as construction is set to begin soon.

Pura Vida’s journey began back in 2010 when Southern California friends Griffin Thall and Paul Goodman embarked on a life-changing trip to Costa Rica. Captivated by the country’s laid-back vibe, they discovered two artisans, Jorge and Joaquin, whose colorful bracelets reflected the beauty of Costa Rica but also highlighted the struggles of artisans in the area.
Inspired to help, Griffin and Paul brought 400 bracelets back to San Diego, and the Pura Vida movement was born. The brand, which promotes the simple joys of life—“pura vida” meaning “pure life” in Spanish—has since become a global sensation, selling millions of bracelets and donating over $5 million to charities worldwide.
