Levy shared with Collider‘s Steve Weintraub, “It is in production. Production and animation is a very different process. I am very actively in hands-on, producing that. I’ve seen two of the three acts in animation form. It is somehow its own thing, but very, very loyal to the legacy of those characters in that title. So happening, and will be on Disney+ next year in 2022.”

The new film is named “Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again” and reportedly, will feature Nick Daley, Larry Daley’s son, as an adult and taking over the job as the Museum’s Night Guard from his father. The film will see the return of Kamunrah (Hank Azaria) from the second live-action film, as Nick navigates his new role. Currently, no other actors or characters from the original live-action trilogy have been announced for the film and according to the report, Disney is looking to add some fresh faces to the franchise. One such character being Joan of Arc as Nick’s confidant, much to the parallel of Robin William’s Theodore Roosevelt for Larry in the original film.
