In the fall issue of Disney twenty-three, Editor in Chief Carmen Capone travels to Walt Disney Feature Animation to go behind the scenes of the making of Tangled, Disney’s upcoming fairy-tale adventure. You’ll meet Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi, two of the film’s voice talents, and Glen Keane, one of Disney’s most astonishing animators. You’ll also discover the enchanting storyline behind this eagerly awaited film, which tells the story of a young girl named Rapunzel and the handsome rogue Flynn Rider, who stumbles upon her in her unlikely abode — locked away, high up in a tower. Together they will embark on a journey of self-discovery that will untangle the mystery of who they really are and restore the girl to her rightful place in the world.
You’ll also travel to the headquarters of Walt Disney Imagineering in Glendale, California, for an eye-opening tour through one of the world’s most revered creative epicenters. You’ll meet Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer Bruce Vaughn, who serves as your host for this one-of-a-kind excursion, and meet other Imagineering visionaries, like Joe Rohde, Tony Baxter and Kathy Mangum.
You’ll also take a trip back in time to take a special look at Walt’s final inspiration: Epcot. Not only will you learn more about how Walt envisioned his park, you’ll learn more about how that vision evolved into a theme park for the ages.
But that’s just the beginning of the fun in store, and you can be sure there are even more wonderful places and special people to read about when Disney twenty-three arrives in mailboxes and in bookstores later this month.
