Newest Launch Coaster Ice Breaker

Preview of SeaWorld’s Newest Launch Coaster Ice Breaker. Prior to Passholders getting to ride the newest Ice Breaker Coaster at Seaworld in Orlando, we got a chance to preview the newest Central Florida Coaster. Also, we got a chance to sample the newest Ice Breaker merchandise, along with a new drink and a new burger at Altitude Burgers (it’s blue).

Not often do we get a chance to bring family with us to a media event. This time, however, with Seaworld Orlando calling the newest Ice Breaker Coaster a family coaster, we had to try it out as a family. I wanted to get the reaction of a 15-year-old, who enjoys smaller coasters but will ride the big ones if her confidence is built up. Keep reading for our review.

Here is how Seaworld writes about the Newest Launch Coaster Ice Breaker: The moment that our guests have been for is almost here. Get ready for uncharted chills on the all-new Ice Breaker coaster! Named after the icy Arctic summits, Ice Breaker will feature four airtime-filled launches, both backward and forwards, culminating in a reverse launch into the steepest beyond the vertical drop in Florida – a 93 feet tall spike with a 100-degree angle. The thrills continue as riders fly over a near-vertical tophat maneuver into a series of exciting twists, turns, and airtime hills. The brand-new coaster will be located across from Wild Arctic and opens February 18, 2022.

Newest Launch Coaster Ice Breaker

The newest Launch Coaster Ice Breaker is family-friendly at 42″ height requirement and blast to ride. We enjoyed our ride. Our 15 year old put it in her top 5, and she has ridden every coaster between Orlando and New Jersey. Her favorite part is the second backward launch, if you are in the back row, you get extra hang time she said. You can watch the video below of our ride. In her words, Seaworld Orlando has a hit on their hands.

We both felt Seaworld’s Newest Launch Coaster Ice Breaker is a great ride if you are already going to Seaworld, which has one of the greatest coasters of all time with Mako, this is a great way to introduce younger ones to the thrills of a launch coaster.

Here is where we have a small issue, Newest Launch Coaster Ice Breaker was scheduled to open prior to Velocicoaster over at Universal. If it had been able to, without a pandemic hitting the world, it would have been much better. It does feel like a baby brother of the massively successful Velocicoaster over at a competing Theme Park. It is missing the loops and that over the Top Hat look at all of central Florida. It just feels like it is missing something that Velocicoaster gives you as a thrill seeker.

Now as an introduction to thrill coasters it works very very well. Kids, and parents alike, will enjoy the air time. The speed, and the view of the lagoon. Seaworld did a good job with Ice Breaker, we don’t want this to sound like a negative review at all. We do think families and newer people to coasters will really enjoy it.
