Prehistoric Garden Roars to Life at EPCOT’s 2025 Flower & Garden Festival
If you’re exploring the outer reaches of World Discovery at EPCOT this spring, you may notice a lush corner that transports you straight back to the age of dinosaurs. That’s because the Prehistoric Garden—a fan-favorite addition to the festival’s Global Gardens—has officially returned for the 2025 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival, this time in a brand-new location.

A New Spot Between Two Cosmic Adventures
In previous years, the Prehistoric Garden sat front-and-center near Mission: SPACE. For 2025, you’ll find it in a triangle-shaped planter nestled between Mission: SPACE and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. The new location offers ample space for the garden’s striking foliage and hidden Jurassic surprises—plus, it gives curious visitors a fresh spot to discover this time-traveling exhibit as they journey through the festival.

Ancient Plants and Dino-Era Details
The Prehistoric Garden features greenery that’s been around for millions of years, such as cycads, ferns, and mosses—some of the very same species that once formed vast forests during the Mesozoic Era. Today, these primordial plants form the perfect setting for dinosaur-inspired décor:
- Colorful Dinosaur Figures
Throughout the garden, keep an eye out for small plastic dinos in vibrant hues. They pop against a backdrop of mostly green and brown foliage, making them great fun for little paleontologists-in-training. - Fossil-Like Props
Look closely among the stones and you’ll find embedded “fossils”—complete with skulls, claws, and entire dino skeletons. These whimsical additions highlight the link between Earth’s ancient past and our modern fascination with dinosaurs.
Hands-On Displays and Planters
Larger black bowl planters showcase an array of prehistoric plants and ornamental rocks. The festival team has created an immersive layout, with driftwood accents and layered greenery in every corner. Expect to see:
- Towering Tree Canopies
Providing shade and scale, these tall trees frame the space, reminding you just how vast primeval forests once were. - Layered Ferns and Mosses
Ferns spill from tall planters, while mossy patches bring subtle texture to the overall design. - Strategic Signage
While the official signage may still be on its way, you can be sure that once installed, it’ll detail the significance of these ancient plants and the role they played in shaping the Earth’s ecosystems.
More Festival Fun Nearby
Of course, the Prehistoric Garden isn’t the only highlight awaiting nature enthusiasts this year. The 2025 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival runs March 5 to June 2, brimming with:
- Topiary Displays
Iconic Disney and Pixar characters are reimagined in vibrant plant sculptures around the park. - Outdoor Kitchens
Savor seasonal flavors and creative cuisine with exclusive festival food booths throughout World Showcase and beyond. - Concert Series
The Garden Rocks Concert Series offers live music at the America Gardens Theatre on select dates—perfect for rounding out a day of exploration.
