Walt Disney Pictures has been rolling out one live action film after another of their popular animated features. The company started off with a live adaptation of Cinderella. Fans are currently waiting for the much anticipated live action film, The Lion King. Disney has also announced more of these films to be released in the years to come. Now, the company is in talks for a possible live action version of Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas.
The Nightmare Before Christmas is a clay, stop-motion feature with it’s story written by Tim Burton. Paired with the musical compositions of Danny Elfman, this film remains a crowd favorite to this day. The film still has such a presence in the parks and in pop culture.
At the Disneyland Park, you can see Jack Skellington and all the residents of Halloweentown as they take over the Haunted Mansion during the holiday season. Jack and Sally are also around New Orleans Square to meet and for a Photopass opportunity.
Fans of the film can enjoy their favorite moments and sing along to their favorite songs one time a year at the Hollywood Bowl. The Hollywood Bowl hosts the voice actors and composer, Danny Elfman with a series of evening performances. Sit under the stars and sing along to your favorite songs from the film.
At this time, nothing has been set in stone about a possible live adaptation of The Nightmare Before Christmas. Disney is considering all their options to keep this franchise alive and well. Maybe fans will get a live action film and maybe a sequel could be on the horizon. One thing is for sure, Jack and his friends are here to stay.
