Porto’s Bakery Opening New Location at Downtown Disney in 2025
Porto’s Bakery, a Southern California culinary institution renowned for its Cuban treats and baked goods, is expanding its reach. The beloved bakery chain announced plans Tuesday to open its seventh location at Downtown Disney in 2025.
This latest addition is part of Disney’s ongoing transformation of the outdoor shopping center. The entertainment giant has already welcomed several new dining options to the area, including Din Tai Fung, Paseo, Centrico, and Tiendita.

Porto’s Bakery first announced its expansion to Downtown Disney during the 2022 D23 Expo. The popular bakery chain will occupy the former La Brea’s Bakery location near the Esplanade. This will be Porto’s seventh Southern California location, joining its existing bakeries in Buena Park, Downey, Glendale, West Covina, Burbank, and Northridge.
What began as a home-based bakery venture by Rosa Porto and her family has blossomed into a Southern California sensation. Porto’s is celebrated for its distinctive Cuban cuisine, offering a delightful array of sweet and savory treats including guava and cheese strudel, cheese rolls, empanadas, and cakes. As the bakery prepares to open its seventh location at Downtown Disney, it is modernizing operations with new digital ordering systems.
Porto’s remarkable success is evident in its numerous accolades. The bakery claimed the top spot on Yelp’s Top 100 Places to Eat in the US and was named Best Bakery in the Southland by the Los Angeles Times in 2021.
