Arrest at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Tied to Deadly California Fireworks Explosion
A man wanted in connection with the deadly 2025 fireworks explosion in Esparto, California, was arrested this week at Walt Disney World. Local reports say Kenneth Kin Chee, owner of Devastating Pyrotechnics, was taken into custody by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office at 351 Studio Drive in Bay Lake, an address that matches Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

The arrest is tied to the July 1, 2025 explosion in Yolo County that killed seven people. Authorities say the blast involved commercial fireworks and ammunition stored at a property that allegedly did not have the required local permits. Chee is reported to be facing multiple felony charges, including seven counts of murder and conspiracy, while six other people were also arrested as part of the broader investigation.

Because this is still a developing story, more details could emerge about the arrests and extradition process. For now, the Disney connection appears to be limited to where Chee was taken into custody, not to the underlying California case itself.
