Stitch’s Great Escape

stitch

Located in Tomorrowland, Stitch’s Great Escape showcases that ornery character at his best!  He’s at it again!  Guests are invited to help capture Stitch, also known as Experiment 626.  You are “briefed” by the Galactic Federation Councilwoman on your mission, and then led into a circular auditorium to take you seat.  The harnesses come down, and you better get ready for some craziness with Stitch!  Before you know it, the little guy is bouncing on your shoulders and just causing mayhem!

  • Stitch’s Great Escape is good for older children.  It can be very dark, loud, and scary for younger children.
  • There are lots of sensory effects in this attraction-water, smoke, feeling Stitch run across your shoulders, bouncing, smells, etc.  Prepare your child for this before getting on the ride.
  • The harnesses can be sort of uncomfortable, so be prepared for that.
  • The height requirement is 40 inches.
  • If you are at all sensitive to smells, noises, or touch, this ride may not be for you.

This is a great addition to Tomorrowland, but isn’t a “must do” in our opinion.  If you enjoy suspense, “alien encounters” , and some mischief then you will enjoy it.

Quick Tip:  Outside The World of Disney, Stitch is sharing his mischief, too!  If you stand close enough, he’ll spit water on you!

Overall, we give this attraction a “B-“.

  1. I don’t care how many times I go on this, knowing it was Alien Encounters, I still get excited and still jump at all the effects.

  2. My oldest wants to ride this so bad because he loves stitch but he’s autistic and has sensory issues. I’m letting his read all the mediocre reviews in hopes he’ll change his mind. I think it’s working.

  3. I haven’t ridden this since it was Alien Encounter…and I can’t say that I want to! Sorry, Stitch!

  4. My husband and I don’t enjoy this ride at all– we tried it back in 2009 and we thought it just wasn’t worth the wait. It may be fun for older “tween” kids but definitely too scary for young kids. We skipped it for three years and then tried again when we went in May– nope, still felt like I would rather spend my time on the other attractions!

  5. my son would love this ride. but we won’t be going to Disney World until the kids are older. wished it was at Disneyland,

  6. I really enjoyed this ride and so did my 4 daughters. I wish they had this ride at Disneyland in California because we go there a lot more. But my daughters 1,2,6,9 loved it and had a great time.

  7. stitch great escape i think needs to be replaced because it scares so many of the little kids. because i took my son on it when he was around 5-6 and he crawled out from under the harness part and was gone before i could get out of mine
