Saratoga Springs Resort

Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort is located in the Downtown Disney area of Walt Disney World.  It is a HUGE resort, and many people in the Disney Vacation Club call it their “home resort”.  The Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa is themed like the turn of the century Middle Atlantic town in New York.  Though large everything seems to be easily accessible from all room areas.   You’ll be instantly transported to the late 1800s with the classic atmosphere of horse racing and the Victorian Era-with a little Disney magic of course.

Rooms: Even though this is a DVC resort, you do not have to be a DVC member to stay here on your trip.  The rooms are Studios, which sleep up to four guests and have a small refrigerator and coffeemaker.  One Bedroom Villas sleep up to four guests as well.  However, these have a fully equipped kitchen, a private washer and dryer, as well as a master suite with a king size bath and whirlpool tub.  Two Bedroom Villas sleep up to 8 guests.  These also have a fully equipped kitchen, as well as a balcony.  Last you have the Treehouse Villas.  These accommodate up to 12 guests.  The Treehouse Villas have three bedrooms, as well as plenty of space for everyone!  You will have a fully equipped kitchen, and 2.113 square feet to use during your stay.

At Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa, you won’t be bored!  It’s full of fun activities for the whole family.  Here, you can choose from watercraft rental, tennis, as well as other scheduled recreational activities.  There are nightly campfires and sing alongs and a Community Hall where you can play games such as pool, foosball, board games, and take part in arts and crafts.  Jogging trails, surrey bike rentals, and playgrounds for the kids are amongst the other recreational activities at Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa.

Pools: High Rock Springs Pool is the main pool and it’s a beautiful zero-entry pool, there are also four quiet pools as well as whirlpools and kids play area.  Kids will have a great time “horsing around” with the water canons and slides at the various pools.  The quiet pools are also close to a BBQ area, making it an easy way to relax and enjoy the resort with your family.

Dining:  For quick dining, you will want to visit the Back Stretch Pool Bar, Artist’s Palette, and The Paddock Grill.  You’ll find easy options at each of these locations around the resort.  For a more casual, sit down experience, visit the Turf Club Bar and Grill.  Here you will find burgers, steaks, pork chops, and other foods to fill you up after a great day in the parks.  You’ll want to make reservations to dine here.  If a lounge atmosphere is more your style, visit On the Rocks or the Turf Club Lounge.

Transportation:  Transportation to all Disney parks and water parks from Saratoga Springs is via Disney bus.  There is a walkway to Downtown Disney or a ferry as well.

If you are looking for a great resort for a large group, or a luxurious resort for your family, you’ll find it at Saratoga Springs.  This is an excellent option, at an affordable price, if you are traveling with a large family.

Overall, we give Saratoga Springs Resort an “A”.

  1. I absolutely love Saratoga Springs. This is my family’s DVC home resort so we stay here as often as we can. At first when I found out this was the home resort I was somewhat disappointed because I’d never stayed there before and I felt like it might be too fancy and not as fun as other resorts but I was wrong! The staff is so friendly/helpful and are always saying welcome home. The buildings are all pretty pastel colors. The pools are amazing, my husband absolutely loves their big slide. We always try to stay in a building close to Downtown Disney because the walking trails are awesome but even if you’re not near the trails there is a boat in the lobby that will take you straight there! We’ve stayed in every kind of room here, studio, 2 bedroom, and even the biggest suite and they were all fantastic. I highly recommend this resort.

  2. Stayed here in a 2 bdrm unit in December for 10 days during Christmas and it was Wonderful.. We literally walked to DTD a couple of nights to get some Hot Chocolate at Ghirardelli and saw the carolers signing Christmas melodies. The pools are heated, so if you feel like taking a swim on a not so cold day, it’s perfect. (Florida has some crazy up & down weather, even during the winter).. 😉 The villas were super comfortable, clean and totally made us feel like home! We always had fresh linens and towels and anything else we needed in a basket by the door almost every morning and the Concierge was Excellent!

  3. Anyone have any tips for staying here with a three year old? we always stay at animal kindgom lodge but this place seems huge
