Pixar Place

Disney Hollywood’s Studios newest area is Pixar Place.   Once the Disney Co. officially acquired Pixar and not just the rights to some of their movies, Walt Disney World decided to give the Pixar family their own home.  Styled after the Pixar Animation building in California, Pixar Place welcomes guests with the friendly Pixar Place sign and Luxo,  Jr. sitting atop the street sign for “Pixar Place.”

Pixar Place is home to Toy Story Midway Mania, a fantastic arcade-style video game, and directly across the street is a Toy Story meet and greet with characters like Buzz and Woody, posing “on Andy’s bed.”  Located near the entrance of Pixar Place is another attraction, The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow, a walk-through attraction filled with scenes, costumes, and props from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.

Another walk-through attraction, Walt Disney: One Man’s Dream is also located near the Pixar Place entrance.  Originally created by D23, this attraction is a museum of Walt Disney, complete with a mock up of his office, original characters and artifacts from Walt Disney’s life.

Pixar Place also has a snack kiosk and a few places to purchase mostly Pixar souvenirs.  If you’re lucky, you’ll also have a run in with Andy’s green toy soldiers as they march through the streets.  Pixar Place is a must-see area at Disney’s Hollywood Studios!

  1. Good info on the Legend of Jack Sparrow–that is a new attraction since my last trip, so I can’t wait to add it to my travel plans for the next trip!

  2. Can’t go to Pixar land without Toy Story Mania!!! On our last trip I was the first one to get fastpasses for that day. I wish they had a medal for what I did to get back there so quick, lol

  3. Love Toy Story Mania! I learned the hard way that it’s actually a pretty rough ride though. I left my camera attached to my bag not thinking anything would happen to it… it was all scratched up after I got off the ride 🙁 Still a disney favorite though! Love the props and scenery in the line.
