Disney/Pixar’s Thanksgiving weekend release of “The Good Dinosaur” saw lower numbers than expected at the box offices.
A weak audience consisting of 79% families, and 40% 12 and under was given as the reason for the low box office sales numbers. However with the limited holiday releases, the film still has the chance to raise the numbers.
Sales for the 3 day period at 39.2 million and overall 5 day weekend at 55.6 million might seem low, but “The Good Dinosaur” still ranked in 3rd place behind Minions and Inside Out for the year on the 5 day numbers and 7th place for the 3 day numbers. Ranking 4th overall behind Frozen, Toy Story 2 and Tangled for the biggest holiday opening ever, “The Good Dinosaur” still has impressive numbers.
“The Good Dinosaur” is the story of Arlo the dinosaur and his adventures. Along with his friend Spot, Arlo must learn to face his fears and learn some hard lessons.
If you have not seen this cute but sad, new Pixar film, grab the tissues and your kids, spouse, family members and friends and head to your nearest theater.
