Producer Jerry Bruckheimer has confirmed original series writer Ted Elliot is returning to the Seven Seas for the currently untitled ‘Pirates of the Caribbean 6’ for Disney. Bruckheimer shared the news with Comicbook.com, saying “I’ve very excited, it’s going to be terrific. We’re just working on the screenplay. One of the original writers, Ted Elliot, is helping write it. He has a great command of the characters.“

Not much is known about the upcoming film other than Disney is still claiming that Johnny Depp is not attached to the project at this time and both Margot Robbie and Karen Gillan are rumored to be leading the film in Depp’s stead. Original cast members Orlando Bloom and Kiera Knightley are rumored to make an appearance in the film, but this has not been confirmed by anyone within production.
