Earlier last month we shared an exciting video of the foundation being laid for the new “Guardians of the Galaxy”-themed roller coaster which is being built at Epcot. We stopped by to check on the progress being made and we were impressed!
When it’s complete, this one-of-a-kind family attraction will be one of the world’s longest enclosed roller coasters when it’s added to Future World at Epcot. It’ll feature a unique story currently being created by Walt Disney Imagineering and include a new innovative ride system that’s guaranteed to “wow” guests.
Standing in front of the closed Universe of Energy building in Epcot you can’t really tell much is going on behind the scenes. Off to the right, you can see a little bit of the future height of the attraction.
From the monorail looking east from the park entrance, it’s easy to tell how enormous it’s going to be. The square building in the right of the photo is the Universe of Energy building.
But it’s the view from the Epcot parking lot that gives us the best peek at the progress.
The attraction will open in time for the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort in 2021. Stay tuned to Chip and Co for more details as we hear them!
