Guests staying at Universal Orlando Resort have started to venture out to check on the damage from Hurricane Ian.

First thing this morning photos were shared of the damage done to Jurassic Park River Adventure. Hurricane Ian basically blew a huge hole in the side of the building.

We have seen photos of flooding all over Universal Orlando Resort including Islands of Adventure and the Citywalk Area.

Take a look:

Part of The Incredible Hulk Coaster at Islands of Adventure is now underwater.

Here is the walkway from the Lowes Portofino Bay to Citywalk.

Here is a look at the flooding outside of Universal on Kirkman rd.

Earlier today Universal Orlando released a statement to all those impacted by Hurricane.

There is no word on how much damage was done to Universal Orlando Resort from Hurricane Ian. While Universal Orlando is expected to reopen tomorrow if the flooding is as bad as it seems it might not reopen till Saturday.

Here is the latest update from Universal Orlando.

Universal Orlando Resort has made the following operational decisions due to Hurricane Ian:

  • Our destination, including CityWalk, will close on Wednesday, Sept. 28. We will remain closed Thursday and anticipate reopening on Friday, Sept. 30 as conditions permit.
  • Our hotels will remain operational as they focus on taking care of our guests.
  • Our Halloween Horror Nights event at Universal Studios Florida will be canceled Wednesday, Sept. 28 and Thursday, Sept. 29. We anticipate reopening the event on Friday, Sept. 30 conditions permitting.

The Universal Orlando Resort Guest Contact Center is currently experiencing higher than-expected wait times and is currently assisting guests whose travel is directly affected by the hurricane. If your travel dates are after September 30, we would appreciate if you would call us back at a later date.

Our hotels will remain operational as they focus on taking care of our guests. If you have an existing reservation for arrival through Friday that you would like to cancel or modify, please continue to hold.
