PHOTOS: Coronado Springs Resort Construction Update

Work is continuing on the new 15-story tower at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort that will bring an additional 500 rooms with suites and concierge-level services. This new tower which overlooks Lago Dorado, the resort’s centerpiece lake, will offer a rooftop dining experience with panoramic views of popular nighttime fireworks from nearby Disney theme parks.

The new tower is scheduled to be completed by Summer of 2019. We can see from aerial photos (thanks to @bioreconstruct) that construction has reached the 14th floor. One more to go!

Disney has stated that the transformation will stay true to the resort theme, reflecting the vibrant spirit of adventure that lived within the Spanish explorers of North America. The addition of Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort tower will bring the number Walt Disney World Resort rooms to nearly 30,000 within its 27 resort hotels.

Work has also begun on the new dining location located in the middle of Lake Lago. In order for guests to access the new location, three walkways will be constructed over the water to connect it with the rest of the property.
