Disney World may be currently closed but permits are still being filed and approved with the most recent being for the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser. The Galactic Starcruiser is a 2-night all-immersive adventure that allows guests to live their own epic Star Wars story.
The permit filed is for “Fabrication and Installation of Sets” and was signed on May 13, 2020. It is valid through late January 2022. This doesn’t guarantee that work and construction will begin any time soon though.
Adirondack Scenic is the contractor for this project. Adirondack Scenic has done previous work for Disney including Frozen Ever After, Na’Vi River Journey, and Morimoto Asia.
Disney previously announced that reservations for the Starcruiser would be available to be made sometime this year with the opening happening sometime in 2021. With the resort closures and construction delays due to COVID-19, that timeline has most likely changed.
