Permits Filed for NEW Disney Villains Show Coming to Hollywood Studios

Disney Villains are set to take center stage at Hollywood Studios with a brand-new show, and recent permits give us a glimpse into what’s coming! A “general construction” permit has been filed with Whiting-Turner Contracting Company, signaling the start of work at the Sunset Showcase theater on Sunset Boulevard, near Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. While the permit doesn’t detail exactly what work is being performed, the selected contractor has previously partnered with Disney on major projects like the Tomorrowland Launch Depot and the World Celebration Gardens.

Currently home to Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy, the Sunset Showcase theater will soon undergo a transformation as the racing-themed show closes on October 7, 2024. The new Disney Villains show promises to bring fan-favorite characters like Maleficent, Cruella de Vil, and Captain Hook to life with dazzling production numbers and thrilling special effects. Audiences will be drawn into the mysterious realm of the Magic Mirror, immersing them in a world of sinister magic and iconic Disney villainy.
