The future of Epcot is fueled by the power of imagination. The Disney Park is receiving an incredible transformation that will bring new entertainment and offerings for guests. Despite the setbacks of last year, the Walt Disney Imagineering Team is continuing work on new Epcot projects. For instance, the Orange County Comptroller office reveals that new construction permits were filed for Epcot. But what does this mean for the Orlando theme park?
Disney recently filed for a general construction permit in regards to Epcot’s Spaceship Earth.

There are several possibilities when it comes to the nature of this upcoming work. It could be that Disney is finishing up work in the new EPCOT entrance plaza north of Spaceship Earth.
The permit mentions how the work will done with the contractor Fadgen Builders. The company is known for creating and installing custom signs, experiential elements, and interactive technology.
Even though Spaceship Earth is currently not listed on the refurbishment schedule, the permit does suggest some general interior work. We’ll continue to post updates once the nature of the work is more openly discussed.
Over the course of 18th months Disney will feature new experiences at the resort’s four theme parks and beyond, where shimmering EARidescent décor will appear as if by magic. Shining at the center of it all will be Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom Park, which will add to its royal makeover from 2020 with new gold bunting, sparkling golden embellishments, and other new enhancements, including a 50th-anniversary crest warmly welcoming guests to the join the festivities.
