Shrek 4-D is set to permanently close at Universal Orlando Resort in 2022. The team members who work the attraction will be relocated elsewhere when it closes in January of 2022. In the meantime, there’s a new permit filed by Universal Orlando. It’s making people question if the work is intended for the demolition of Shrek 4-D.
The permit is posted for new Project 331 at Universal Orlando. Possibly related to one of the upcoming projects at Universal Studios Florida, such as Shrek 4D’s replacement due to the work listed on the permit. It describes demolition of partitions and portions of the existing slab, among other changes.

Here is more information about Shrek 4-D.
Lord Farquaad has returned (in ghostly form) and kidnapped Princess Fiona. Shrek and Donkey are hot on his trail. You’re along for the ride, watching it unfold. And with your OgreVision glasses (and a few special effects), you’ll see, hear and feel what’s happening, pulling you into the story like never before.
Shrek 4-D was closed at Universal Hollywood back in 2017 to make room for the DreamWorks Theatre.
There is no official word on what will be replacing the attraction at this time.
