New Trailer Revealed for Disney+ Original Series Percy Jackson and the Olympians

Fans of Rick Riordan’s beloved book series are in for a treat as Percy Jackson makes his triumphant return, this time to the small screen. The upcoming Disney+ Original series, “Percy Jackson and the Olympians,” promises to bring the iconic character and his epic adventures to life in a way that will surely captivate both die-hard fans and newcomers alike. Today, Disney+ unveiled a fresh teaser trailer for the upcoming Disney+ Original series “Percy Jackson and the Olympians.” This latest sneak peek offers a glimpse into the heroic journey that Percy Jackson (played by Walker Scobell), Grover Underwood (portrayed by Aryan Simhadri), and Annabeth Chase (brought to life by Leah Sava Jeffries) will embark on when the series premieres on December 20 on Disney+, starting with a double episode debut, followed by weekly releases.

This epic eight-episode series promises an array of thrilling guest appearances, some of which are showcased in the teaser trailer. The cast includes Lin-Manuel Miranda as “Hermes,” Megan Mullally as “Alecto” (aka “Mrs. Dodds”), Toby Stephens as “Poseidon,” Virginia Kull as “Sally Jackson,” Jason Mantzoukas as “Dionysus” (aka “Mr. D”), Jay Duplass as “Hades,” Glynn Turman as “Chiron” (aka “Mr. Brunner”).

Additional cast includes the late Lance Reddick as “Zeus,” Adam Copeland as “Ares,” Charlie Bushnell as “Luke Castellan,” Dior Goodjohn as “Clarisse La Rue,” Jessica Parker Kennedy as “Medusa,” Olivea Morton as “Nancy Bobofit,” Suzanne Cryer as “Echidna,” Timm Sharp as “Gabe Ugliano,” and Timothy Omundson as “Hephaestus.”

The first two episodes are penned by Rick Riordan and Jon Steinberg, with direction by James Bobin. Executive producers include Steinberg and Dan Shotz, in addition to Rick Riordan, Rebecca Riordan, The Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Bert Salke, The Gotham Group’s Jeremy Bell and D.J. Goldberg, James Bobin, Jim Rowe, Monica Owusu-Breen, Anders Engström, and Jet Wilkinson.

The Percy Jackson book series, officially known as “Percy Jackson & the Olympians,” is a popular young adult fantasy series written by American author Rick Riordan. The series consists of five main novels, each centered around the adventures of Percy Jackson, a young demigod, as he navigates the world of Greek mythology. The series is known for its blend of Greek mythology, humor, and modern-day settings, making it highly appealing to readers of all ages.

The series follows Percy Jackson, who discovers that he is the son of Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea. He is sent to Camp Half-Blood, a training camp for demigods, where he learns about his heritage and the existence of other gods, monsters, and mythological creatures.

Throughout the series, Percy and his friends embark on quests to prevent catastrophes and face various challenges posed by the gods and their enemies, including Titans and other powerful beings.

The Percy Jackson series has been highly acclaimed for its engaging storytelling, relatable characters, and its ability to introduce young readers to Greek mythology in an accessible and entertaining way.
