When we went to Disney for our wedding anniversary we could a free hotel room upgrade to a lake view room and a package of Disney plates, bowls and mugs for us both wrapped up in beautiful cellophane and ribbons and bows. It was really magical and so lovely of them. x
We have received the free dining several times. On one visit my diabetic dad became ill because he waited too long to eat. He was given a free meal. We have also received lovely desserts for our anniversary and birthdays. Disney visa cards give points when you charge. The points can be redeemed for food and merchandise at the parks.
We have received Birthday Cupcakes on my son’s Birthday, and a couple trading pins and on the Disney Cruise a free castaway cay towel and bag too but that’s about it for freebies from Disney..going to Disney in 78 days then the Disney Dream in 81 days…maybe we will get lucky and get something free!
Oh! We ate at 50s Prime Time and my daughter didn’t like what we ordered for her (spaghetti but with macaroni noodles) so our waitress brought her an entirely new plate of food and didn’t charge us. Does that count?! lol
My daughter got necklaces from our Magical Express driver. She loved them and still has them.
Nothing better than the cute cupcakes with mickey sprinkles for your birthday!!!
OOOPS! I forgot…on our last trip to WDW (November 2009), we received FREE DINING…Woo Hoo!! What an awesome bonus that was…BUT, I would still reallly, really appreciate the free book…it would come in super handy for my upcoming trip with my BFF! 🙂 I am sorry I said that I have never received anything free from Disney earlier today – it has been bothering me all day, until I could fess-up!
My daughter got lots of free autographs and cupcakes for her birthday celebration last year…. but that’s about it. Oh, and a free day for the “give a day, get a day” program that was offered.
I received a free pin on Christmas Day back in 2005 from a castmember!
My son got the birthday dessert with a candle and got sung to when we ate at Storyteller’s Cafe on his 4th birthday.
My husband and I were given FREE bride and groom mouse ears on our honeymoon!
Unless you count booking a trip during a special promotion then no I haven’t. But if you count that then last year I got a gift card with enough money on it to pay for my kids and I to eat the entire time we were there. I can’t wait to find out what magic awaits us when we are there in June, it will be my infant granddaughter’s first time and my parent’s second time, yes we are taking 4 generations to the park this year.
When we went in 2009, my daughter was given an Ariel pin and my husband was given a mickey treat, both at the CS in America Pavillion. Oh, and we each got a Mickey sticker that said “Happy Birthday ” in Japanese from teh Japan pavillion.
I’ve never received anything for free, but haven’t been since 1996. A lot has changed since then, mostly in my understanding of how much I didn’t know!
My son was excited to participate in pin trading this year. Without thinking, he traded away his only Buzz Lightyear pin and about 5 minutes later (when he realized it was gone for good) he got really upset. We told him it was a good lesson and he could look for a new Buzz pin that he may like better. By the end of our trip, we still hadn’t found one and we were in a hurry (the park was closing) – a cast member came over to ask if we needed any help. We told her the story and asked if they had any we could buy. She told us to wait one second and she disappeared. When she came back she had a buzz pin for him (for free). He was so excited! It really made his trip magical and he has learned to think hard about the pins he trades.
Back in 2005 after searching everywhere for a new strap for my Tinker Bell watch, my BFF and I went into Mouse Gears. The cast member that helped me took the time to take the old strap off and put the new one on. After that, while talking to a few other cast members, we thanked everyone. The next day while checking our package that had been delivered to our resort, we realized that they had all signed a birthday card for each of us and put our picture from Chef Mickeys into a special frame and also gave each of us a Tinker Bell birthday pin. We needed a lot of tissues for that moment.
We received a glass of champagne and a toast from the cast members when we celebrated our anniversary last year!
My daughter, who is now 4, is the Disney freebie receiver in our family. She has received 3 special edition cast member only pins. My favorite time she got one was when she was two. She blew the bus driver a kiss, and when we got to our stop he came and got us off first, picked her up and gave her the pin. He said to make sure she didn’t trade it because it was worth more money and could be worth a lot one day. I looked it up on eBay, not because I would let her trade it, just because of curiosity. It was going for $40. Since then she has received two other free pins. It seems all she has to do it bat her eyes at a cast member, and they throw free pins at her!
Besides getting several free birthday cupcakes for celebrating our son’s birthday, on our last trip he got a free piece of chocolate! Our first night at Disney, we went to Goofy’s Candy Co. (for the first time!) and were looking around and watching them make the special treats. My son was on my husbands shoulders and kept saying, “I want some chocolate!”. The nice lady working back there gave him one of the chocolate pieces that they melt for the coating – it was a nice little free surprise!
Nope nothing free for us. 🙁 maybe next time!

While leave the buzz lightyear ride, one of the cast members gave me a Mickey sticker.
We were walking throught the Wilderness Lodge and stopped to look at the pin cart. This was when Pin Trading was just starting. I looked at some Tinker Bell pins, but decided to wait and see what other places offered. The cast member gave me a Tinker Bell Pin Trading pin to start my collection!
Last year my mom, brother and I went to disney and I was very much stalking cast members looking for pins and so i found this older gentleman that had a pin that I wanted, so he gave me that pin AND a pin for my daughter (I was pregnant at the time, so he told me to hold on to it for her so she can start pin trading when she comes) it was a pin of a little baby.
Last Sept. we had a girls only trip. There were 4 of us and we were in Germany looking around and chatting away. One of the CM’s at the gift shop, I forget the name right now, started joking around with us, flirting really, and we played along. When we were leaving he gave us a bag of gummy bears and a Toblerone bar!! So yummy! He did get a few hugs from us so we got free candy and he got free hugs! 🙂
We had a problem with our toilet at Port Orleans resort and they fixed it and left us a fruit basket with an apology in our room.
I have never received anything free from Disney…so winning a free book, for my trip in September, would be awesome!! 🙂
Tons of free smiles, magic, and pixie dust, but we’ve never gotten any free “loot”. We always feel like we’re getting special attention (even though I suspect they treat everyone that way) without getting anything of any conventional monetary value. I wouldn’t turn down some swag, but that feeling is what keeps us coming back year after year!
During the Year of A Million Dreams I have received a set of pins and a lanyard and 6 different Mickey Ears!
When we went to Boma during our Honeymoon trip, the server brought us a dessert plate that read “Happy Honeymoon” with zebra domes and strawberries with chocolate. Not that we needed extra dessert since Boma has a wonderful selection, but it was really nice, and free!
We have had annual passes to Disneyland for over 10 years and have never been given anything free… There are free tortillas at the factory at California Adventures and free band aids at the Nurses office …

A few years ago we were in AK and my mom got sick(overheated) the staff was amazing, took care of her and escorted us out during a parade. When we were leaving we were to be heading to Whispering Canyon Cafe for dinner. She still felt a little shaky but against everyones advice she want to stay with group and go for dinner. She only had water & fruit plate but at the end of dinner they told us that they wouldn’t be charging her as staff members from AK called over to see if she was ok and that dinner was on the house!
We were waiting in the LOOOONG line at Toy Story Mania when the Tropical Storm decided to start whipping us again. We ran into the little shop across the way to get out of the wind and rain. The cast member saw my kids looking at buzz and woody pens. She came over and started to talk to the kids and when the rain stopped before we left to re-join the line she brought over 2 pens….one for each of my kids! It was one of the greatest things they have ever gotten. They both still play with their pens. This trip was in 2008 but the pens are so special to the kids!
never a Disney cruise – lots of cruises on other lines but not Disney yet. I’d love to try a new Disney ship though.
Sorry guys I forgot to change the Question from yesterday. I will count all your entries still and if you want to tell me any free things you got I would love to hear your stories!

I have never been on a cruise let alone a Disney cruise, maybe one day.
We have been on 2 Disney cruises. The first one was a 4 day…it was too short to really enjoy. The second one was a 7 day and it was a blast! Just stay on an upper deck or you feel the boat move in the lower ones in your room. Definately worth the price!
We have not been on a Disney cruise. I am worried that I won’t get my Disney fix!! I love the parks so much, I don’t know if the cruise would be enough for me!
Not yet – – I just can’t stop myself from going to the Disney World or DisneyLand!
We haven’t been on a Disney Cruise yet, but we are planning on taking a big family trip sometime in the next year or so. We are going to go with my parents, my sister, her husband and kids, my husband and our kids, and myself. I’m hoping to get either the Walt or Ray Suite and an adjoining state room on the Disney Dream. They’re amazing!!
sadly, I’ve never been on a cruise, let alone a Disney cruise but would love to one day
I haven’t been on one yet but, The Disney Dream calls my name in my sleep!
I have never been on a Disney Cruise, but do plan to go when our son is a little older!
