What if Ariel had never defeated Ursula?

It’s been five years since the infamous sea witch defeated the little mermaid… and took King Triton’s life in the process. Ariel is now the voiceless queen of Atlantica, while Ursula runs Prince Eric’s kingdom on land. But when Ariel discovers that her father might still be alive, she finds herself returning to a world—and a prince—she never imagined she would see again.

This book was an exciting read that took me back to my childhood adventuring alongside Ariel. We get to see a side of Ariel that shows off why she’s a Disney Princess, with her bravery and determination. I enjoyed the alternate storytelling, and although Ariel is one of my favorites, the Disney Villains lover in me enjoyed seeing a little more of our favorite Sea Witch, Ursula.

This was an especially fun read for me, because I am currently in the process of redecorating my room themed with “The Little Mermaid”. I was inspired by the bedroom set from Box Lunch, and I’ve been slowly transforming my the room in my new house into a mermaid grotto!

I also found some fun Ariel and Ursula socks at Disney Springs to wear while curled up reading this fun new book!

  1. I’m commenting again because I don’t see my first comment. My favorite villain is Ursula. She is hilariously over the top.

  2. My favorite Disney villian is Ursula and one of my favorite Princesses is Ariel so I would love to read this book. I always wanted to know more about Ursula .

  3. My favorite Disney villian is Ursula and Ariel is one of my favorite Princesses so I would love to read this book .I always wanted to learn more about Ursula .

  4. Jafar…”To send him packing on a one-way trip, So his prospects take a terminal dip.
His assets frozen, the venue chosen
Is the ends of the earth, whoopee!” Haha

  5. Maleficent has always been a favorite of mine even since I was a child. She has that cool confidence as well as the amazing power to turn into a dragon. As a kid those are two pretty awesome qualities

  6. My favorite villain is Ursula!! Everything about The Little Mermaid has been my favorite. Favorite princess, prince and villain!

  7. Ursula is my favorite! Dressing up as her next weekend for the Disneyland Paris Half Marathon which is Disney Villain themed!!!

  8. Ursula has always been my favorite followed closely by Gaston. They both have so much sass who can’t love them?!

  9. The Little Mermaid is my favorite Disney movie! Ursula is definitely my favorite villian. I was super excited to get the Ursula Christmas ornament last year as well.

  10. Ursula is the absolute best villain of them all!!! My car is named Ursula, has an Ursula sticker, and I will be getting an Ursula tattoo! My dogs name is Phoebe (from friends) who has a twin sister named Ursula…but she’s such a good girl we just could not name her after the Sea Witch! I was one of the lucky few who came to the Disneyland park early to get the Ursula Windows of Evil Pin, and during Mickeys Halloween Party Ursula waved at me during the parade. If that isn’t reason enough right there then I don’t know what is! If I do not win this book I will be buying it regardless…even if it costs my voice.

  11. So difficult to chose just one but since I must, I will say Scar. He was smart, cunning, manipulating and just plain evil!

  12. Ursula has always been my favorite, a misunderstood villain who on the whole has been a saint! This book sounds awesome!

  13. There are so many great villains over the years. Let’s give some props to the unsung villains from the past, such as Madame Medusa from “The Rescuers.”

  14. Yzma is my favorite villain, but it’s unlikely they’ll write a book about her. Ursula is also pretty cool.

  15. My favorite Disney villain has to be Maleficent. She is simply evil incarnate with no other motive than revenge for the insult of not being invited to a party.

  16. Maleficent is my favorite Disney villain. So much so that I’m dressing as her for Halloween this year and my daughter will be Mal from The Descendants.

  17. Urusla has always been my favorite villain for a couple of reasons. Her appearance takes on the definition of a sea witch and along with her human alter ego Vanessa, she is truly my favorite villain!
