Orlando Teacher Receives Surprise of a Lifetime from Disney

Jackie Russell, a sixth-grade math teacher from Orlando, recently received an unforgettable surprise, thanks to Disney. A 2024 nominee for Orange County Public Schools Teacher of the Year, Jackie has spent the last 17 years inspiring students with her creative and inclusive teaching methods, helping them achieve remarkable academic success. Her dedication to her students and community has been recognized with a magical gift—a trip to Walt Disney World and an extraordinary Disney Cruise.

Throughout her teaching career, Jackie has gone above and beyond. She developed a mentoring program to support her students’ academic and personal development and, during the pandemic, launched a YouTube channel offering math tutorials to keep students engaged and learning remotely. Her efforts have helped her students reach some of the highest proficiency levels at her school, showcasing her commitment to their success.

While on a family day out at Walt Disney World, Jackie and her loved ones took a delightful journey on the Jungle Cruise.
