Here are the details from Mayor Demings:

Today, July 28, 2021, under the Orange County Charter, as acting Director of Emergency Management, I announced and signed Executive Order 2021-24, declaring a State of Local Emergency for Orange County.

The Executive Order strongly considers the data from Orange County health care providers that have experienced an increase in emergency room visits, hospitalizations and deaths related to COVID-19 resulting in more inpatients and ventilator use for some providers than at any other time during the COVID-19 pandemic.

I urge our residents and visitors — vaccinated and unvaccinated — to wear a mask while indoors. We want our residents, businesses, and visitors to follow the updated CDC guidelines to make sure there won’t be another shutdown like we experienced last year.

At this time Walt Disney World has not changed its policy on wearing masks indoors.

Here is the information from the Disney World Website:

While face coverings are required for all Guests while in Disney buses, monorail and Disney Skyliner, they are now optional in most areas for Guests who are fully vaccinated. While we do not require proof of vaccination, we expect Guests who are not fully vaccinated to continue wearing face coverings in all indoor locations and upon entering and throughout all attractions and transportation except ferry boats.

All face coverings (whether disposable or reusable) should:

  • Be made with at least 2 layers of breathable material
  • Fully cover the nose and mouth and secure under the chin
  • Fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face
  • Be secured with ties or ear loops and allow the Guest to remain hands-free

Face coverings should not contain valves, mesh material or holes.

Costume masks are not considered appropriate and are prohibited from being worn, in alignment with our existing rules.

Face coverings may have an integrated transparent plastic panel to aid in viewing the wearer’s mouth. These face coverings should:

  • Be a fabric face covering featuring a solid plastic panel containing no openings that is attached to the fabric on all sides using tight knit stitching
  • Meet all face covering requirements listed above

However at the top of the Disney World website it reads:

Based on recent trends and guidance, Walt Disney World Resort has continued to make changes to health and safety measures, as well as beginning to bring back some beloved experiences.

Since the Executive Order was just passed it will be interesting to see if Universal Orlando and Walt Disney World will bring back Face Masks indoors once again.
