November Article Round Up.

Welcome to the Chip and Company Disney News Roundup for the month of November. It has been another busy month here on the C&C website and around the Disney Blog-o-Sphere. From new Walt Disney World Expansion Plans to fun events happening around the holidays. We write this Roundup so you don’t miss out on the best in Disney News & Views.

This month one of our top writers for Chip and Company Chris handles the news round up for us. She shares some of her favorite articles for this past month.

  • Ken is Debunking Myths about Disney World, including that it’s just for kids and that the only thing to eat is burgers and fries.
  • Gossip Columnist Anonymouse shares this Disney Confidential – Australia coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom
  • George and Chip, or is it Chip and George, are Two Lonely Deeks (that’s Disney Geeks, for the uniniated).  This week they have a video blog on their Top Ten Gifts for the Disney Deek. If you’re looking forward to Epic Mickey, you might want to check this out too.
  • I have a confession:  There are a few toys I want for Christmas.
  • Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique debuts a new Tangled package.
  • Chip has some fun pictures and videos from the Osborne Family Festival of Lights in Disney Hollywood Studios.
  • Mike, a new writer over at Chip and Co, talks about his Top Five Disney World Character Meals.
  • I have these videos and they’re really enjoyable:  Check out Imaginerding’s Disney Dream DVDs.   One thing I love about these videos is that my kids have learned a lot about the parks.  Just one more way to indoctrinate, excuse me, educate, my kids on all things Disney World.
  • Fast passes are probably one of the most important things you need to know about before you visit Disney World.  Ken has some quick tips on how to get the best out of them.
  • We’ve all been there:  You have to cancel a much-anticipated Disney trip.  But cancelling a Disney Vacation Club reservation is a little more complicated. Lisa talks us through the process.
  • It’s that time of year:  Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party has started in the Magic Kingdom. Over at Mouse Chat, we talk about the party and the unfortunate (or is it fortunate?) appearance of vegan and gluten-free cupcakes on Disney property. I mean, are they made out of air?  Where did all the happiness go?  You’ll have to listen to find out.
  • We’re all worried about saving money these days and taking vacations can seem like a real luxury. Ken has a few quick tips for staying on your travel budget.
  • I can really get behind this because I love just hanging out at Disney World and taking it easy:  Ken on the zen of just “being” in Disney World.
  • Jessica, our resident Disneyland expert, asks if Disneyland and California Adventure should be merged.
  • I’m a big fan of renting Disney Vacation Club points, but you have to be careful or you’ll pay too much, especially when you consider the prevalency of Disney resort room discounts. Over at Everything Walt Disney World, I talk about how much you  should pay when you rent points.
  • Nancy writes at Chip and Co and at The Affordable Mouse, where she wrote this informative article on planning closer to your trip.  Don’t forget to make that to-do list!
  • We all recognize the sacrifices firefighters (and their families) make to help keep us safe.  Brenda talks about Mickey’s sweet tribute to firefighters.
  • Just in case you didn’t know, here are plenty of free things you can do at Disney World. Here’s a fun top-ten list.
  • Oh, for goodness sakes!  Don’t wing it when you go to Disney World. You’ve got to plan. Even if you’re not a big planner, there are a few things you can do to make your trip a lot better.
  • Finally, the question of whether or not you should use a travel agent.  I’m going to say yes, and here’s why.  Hint: It can save you money and they don’t charge for their services. Their cut comes out of Disney’s pocket.

Chris writes for  Chip and Co and at Everything Walt  Disney World. She’s also a member of the Mouse Chat Podcast team.
