‘Super Mario Galaxy Movie’ Gets Teaser Trailer and April 2026 Release Date
Nintendo and Illumination have officially announced The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, set to arrive in theaters in April 2026. The news, which was revealed during a Nintendo Direct stream, was accompanied by the release of the film’s first teaser trailer. According to Shigeru Miyamoto, the movie will serve as the “main event” of the Super Mario Bros. 40th anniversary celebration.

The film sees the return of key creative talent from the 2023 hit The Super Mario Bros. Movie, with directors Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic back at the helm. Composer Brian Tyler will also be returning for the sequel. The cast includes familiar voices such as Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, and Jack Black as Bowser.
In addition to the film news, Nintendo announced that the games Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 will be released on the Nintendo Switch on October 2, 2025. The announcement also included the reveal of new Mario and Princess Peach Galaxy Amiibo figures.
