Rumors are circulating that the Paint the Night Electrical Parade is all packed up at Disneyland and ready to be shipped out to a new Disney Destination. However, the exact destination the parade is headed is still uncertain.
Disneyland currently has a few nighttime shows and a few more scheduled to debut in the upcoming months. The Main Street Electrical Parade that was previously at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World made it’s debut at Disneyland in January of this year and is scheduled to run through August. Fantasmic is also scheduled to make it’s return to Disneyland this summer. Reports also have pointed to a new Disneyland fireworks show premiering in the early part of 2018. Sounds to me that Disneyland definitely has a nighttime show to spare!
So, where is Paint the Night going to go? Personally, I think it will end up at the Magic Kingdom. The Main Street Electrical Parade left the Magic Kingdom for Disneyland this past Fall and has been missed by all. Sure, the Magic Kingdom just premiered the Happily Ever After Fireworks but they used to run Wishes and The Main Street Electrical Parade in the past at the same time. With the addition of Star Wars Land, Hollywood Studios does not seem like a viable candidate in it’s current state. Animal Kingdom and Epcot have never hosted a large scale parade.
We also can’t forget about the Disney Parks abroad. Currently, Disneyland Shanghai and Disneyland Paris are without a nighttime parade.
Paint the Night first debuted at Disneyland in May of 2015 at part of Disneyland’s Diamond Celebration. It ran through September 2016 and returned for a brief appearance during the Holiday Season of 2016.
Where do you think the Paint the Night will end up?
