New Trees Planted Around EPCOT Area Construction. Construction continues behind the walls at Epcot, and we are seeing improvements almost every day now. Later this year CommuniCore Hall and Journey of Water – Inspired by Moana will open to the public, along with Dreamers Point which will be the home to the new Walt Disney Statue.
World Celebration will offer a beautiful hub divided into several different gardens, with a central planter based on the five-ring EPCOT logo. Filled with ample seating and shade, you’ll be invited to connect with one another and the nature around you in this lush new area. Each of these gardens will have its own identities, and they’ll change along with the festivals throughout the year.
We are starting to see more trees and gardens being installed and planted as you can see in the images below.

At night, the gardens will take on a whole new life, as you can see here. They’re designed to be enjoyed in the round, where lighting immerses you in the nighttime experience that will evolve through the seasons.
At Destination D23 last year, we shared a look at a new Walt Disney statue, created by Imagineers for a special area in EPCOT called Dreamers Point. Inside the pavilion, you’ll see the statue that we can now share will be called “Walt the Dreamer,” which will inspire guests as he gazes out at EPCOT, encouraging everyone to follow their dreams right along with him.
