Walt Disney World’s Galaxy’s Edge has been a hugely popular destination since its opening in 2019. The rides, the food, the shopping, and the overall atmosphere have attracted Star Wars fans from literally all over the world. The most coveted souvenir of the experience by far has been lightsabers. And why not? Everyone wants to be a Jedi.
Visitors can make their own hand-built lightsabers at Savi’s Workshop, but to find their favorite character’s weapons, they’ll have to journey into Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities. On September 18th of this year, fans were able to vote for their choice to be added to the Legacy Lightsaber collection. A winner has finally been announced! Voting ended on October 1st. It might not be a surprise to many Star Wars fans that Cal Kestis will have his lightsaber join the ranks.
For those who don’t know, Cal Kestis was a Jedi who trained during the Clone Wars. He managed to survive Order 66 and was forced into hiding. He is the star of an EA game released in 2019, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Kestis beat out stiff competition to win the honor, taking 40% of the votes. Qui-Gon Jin came in second place with 19%, Anakin Skywalker was third with 12%. In the fourth, fifth, and sixth places are Lord Corvax (11%), Kanan Jarrus (9%), and Ezra Bridger (6%) respectively.
Cal Kestis’ lightsaber will be added to the collection in 2021 and, interestingly enough, will be the first Legacy Lightsaber inspired by a video game character. Other lightsabers available include Luke Skywalker, Rey, and Darth Vader. Purchase these and more at Galaxy’s Edge.
