Game of Thrones writer and co-executive producer will be the showrunner on the upcoming Disney+ series.
Attention Zorro fans! The upcoming new series officially has a showrunner. Rosy Cordero at Deadline reports that the series showrunner and executive producer will be Bryan Cogman, who was previously a writer and co-executive producer for Game of Thrones.

The masked Diego De La Vega, AKA Zorro, will be played by Wilmer Valderrama, who fans will recognize from That 70’s Show (Fez), NCIS (Nick Torres), and Encanto (Agustín). The series is a re-imagining of the 1950s and 1960s era hit which sees Diego De La Vega don the mask of Zorro in the face of corruption and scandal to become America’s first superhero. Zorro later appeared on the silver screen in the 1998 film which starred Antonio Banderas.

The updated series, currently under production by Disney Branded Television, will reportedly take place in the hero’s hometown of El Pueblo de Los Angeles. Disney has not yet announced the show’s premiere date.
