New Series ‘Epic’ Gets Pilot Order From ABC With ‘Once Upon a Time’ Creators Leading the Project. On Friday, Jan 29th, ABC ordered a Pilot episode for the upcoming television series, Epic. Once Upon A Time (OUAT) showrunners and writers, Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, along with OUAT writer Alumni Brigette Hales, have signed on to the production team of the next Disney Fairytale Drama series coming to ABC.

According to an exclusive with Deadline, “Epic is a romantic anthology series set in the fairytale universe of Disney. Taking place in a Disney-like Enchanted Forest, it will center on a whole new set of new heroes, villains, princes, princesses and all manner of magical beings. While it will pay homage to the classic signposts we’re all familiar with from the stories we grew up with, Epic will endeavor to create a whole new batch of characters as it explores love in all its forms.”

The series is expected to take on a similar feel to the popular series, Once Upon a Time, but will blend Disney classic storytelling with all new characters and adventures in a way that is new and exciting. There is no word yet from Disney when to expect ‘Epic‘ to premiere on ABC or who will be cast in the series, but be sure to check back here at Chip and Co. for all things Disney!
