New Mural Complete at DVC Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
As the opening day of the DVC Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort draws near, construction crews continue to make progress. Recent updates include preparations for guest room balconies, a refreshed pool area, and the completion of a stunning turtle mural.

The tribal turtle mural on the right side of the tower is now complete, extending all the way to the building’s base. Previously, it only reached halfway down. Behind the retaining wall, which is still undergoing painting, some electrical equipment has been installed.
To ensure guest safety, wooden boards have been added to the previously bare balconies on the far-right wing. This approach mirrors the initial stage of balcony construction on other wings, where glass panels and themed ironwork were eventually installed.
Little progress has been made on the tower’s entrance overhang this month. At the far left wing, a wooden board has replaced a glass panel on a second-floor balcony, possibly due to damage from Hurricane Milton.
The Wailulu Bar is taking shape, with themed wood slats now adorning the roof. Landscaping work, including the relocation of trees, is also in progress. The pool area looks ready to welcome guests, though construction equipment hints at ongoing work. Moana’s iconic outrigger canoe at the splash pad remains protected from the elements.
