New light fixtures debut at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. The new lobby has been completed, and prior to the curtains and walls coming down, we got a preview of the new retro lobby. From Mary Blair’s artwork to the new elevators, and now the retro lighting fixtures.

The new hanging light fixtures are a call back to the 1971 opening of The Contemporary Resort. The ball at the end of the long arm holding the light itself almost reminds of the space theme that was prevalent at the end of the ’60s. They have also added smaller versions of these same lights over the new couches in the lobby itself.

The refurbishment at Disney’s Contemporary Resort will be finished by the time “The Worlds Most Magical Celebration” starts October 1st.
