Starting March 1, an all-new collection of Second Generation Interactive Wands will be available, featuring never-before-seen magical effects, a personalized spellcasting experience, and brand-new interactive locations in Hogsmeade, Diagon Alley, and the upcoming Ministry of Magic at Epic Universe.
For witches, wizards, and even the occasional mischievous Muggle, this means one thing: more magic, more spells, and even more reasons to practice your wand-waving skills before heading off to Hogwarts. Let’s break down all the enchanting new features coming your way!

New Second Generation Interactive Wands
For the first time ever, Universal’s interactive wands will come with light-up effects and haptic vibrations, meaning you can see and feel the magic with every spell you cast! Available in four unique designs, these wands will be sold in exclusive packaging marked with a “wand burst” icon and include a spell map to help you locate every hidden magical hotspot in the parks.
Universal Play: Your Wizarding Journey Gets Personal
The Universal Orlando Resort App is about to become your personalized spellbook! By connecting your Second Generation Interactive Wand to Universal Play, you’ll unlock customized experiences that bring your wizarding journey to life, including:
Personalization – Create your own Wizard Profile, complete with a custom name, Hogwarts House, Patronus, and Avatar. Your spellcasting effects will even change based on your wizarding identity!
Exclusive Spellcasting Adventures – Take on special spellcasting quests that vary in difficulty and completion time, helping you master your magic and unlock even more enchantments.
House Points & Leaderboards – Every spell you cast earns points for your Hogwarts House! Track your Wizarding Level, Achievements, and House Points, and see how you rank among other witches and wizards. At the end of each day, the house with the most points wins the House Cup!
More Wand Magic Than Ever Before!
Universal is adding five new spellcasting locations to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, bringing the total number of interactive spots to 30 across Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley!
Some of the most exciting new spell locations include:
The Duelling Club Tent (Hogsmeade) – Challenge a dueling dummy to a wizarding showdown and test your defensive spell skills.
The Owl Post (Hogsmeade) – Mischievous Cornish Pixies are causing havoc—cast a spell to freeze them in place before they escape!
Ariadne’s Spinners (Diagon Alley) – Spiders of all sizes are lurking behind glass—use a repelling spell before they take over the window!
Knockturn Alley Sky (Diagon Alley) – Control the stormy night sky by conjuring dark clouds or using a counter-spell to calm the weather.
Knockturn Alley Staircase (Diagon Alley) – Beware—a Dementor lurks in the shadows. Summon your Patronus before it gets too close!
These new locations aren’t just about waving your wand—they include enhanced visual effects, more immersive animations, and deeper storytelling than ever before.
And the magic won’t stop in Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley. When The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic opens at Epic Universe later this year, it will feature 14 new spell locations where guests can search for the Philosopher’s Stone, interact with magical creatures like Nifflers and Demiguises, and much more!
