Haunted Mansion’s Hidden Mickey Shroud Gets a Spooky Glow Up at Magic Kingdom
Something ghostly has returned to The Haunted Mansion at Walt Disney World — and it’s looking brighter (and eerier) than ever. The Hidden Mickey Shroud, which briefly vanished from the attraction’s graveyard scene, has materialized once again with a brand-new glowing blue appearance.

For those unfamiliar, the Hidden Mickey Shroud is the hooded ghostly figure that emerges from a crypt beside the opera-singing spirits. It’s famous among fans for the subtle Mickey-shaped silhouette formed in its raised hand — one of five hidden Mickeys tucked into the attraction.
The refreshed figure now shines with a vibrant blue glow, and for the first time, you can clearly see faint features beneath its hood: a downcast face with closed eyes and a pointed nose. The update makes the figure more distinct while keeping its eerie, spectral vibe intact.
Comparisons to its earlier version show just how much it has changed. The original was darker and more abstract, with a shadowed face punctuated only by glowing eyes, and long tatters draped from the Mickey-shaped hand. The new look trades in those rags for a brighter, ghostlier glow that makes the character stand out in the already-chaotic graveyard scene.

Whether this is a permanent enhancement or just part of ongoing effects updates, fans will be eager to spot the Hidden Mickey Shroud on their next doom buggy ride. After all, there’s always room for one more ghost — especially one that glows.
