New Disney+ Star Wars Series Announced in the Season Finale of ‘The Mandalorian’. This post contains MAJOR SPOILERS for The Mandalorian Chapter 16: The Rescue. If you do not wish to know any spoilers about the episode we recommend you stop reading past this point. Thank you!

We’ll save the major story for later and we highly recommend you watch the Season 2 Finale as soon as possible, but at the end of the credits for Chapter 16 we learn the new title for the first The Mandalorian spin-off series, The Book of Boba Fett. The series title is also set to premiere in December 2021, echoing Kathleen Kennedy’s announcement during The Walt Disney Company Investor Day 2020 event.

The Book of Boba Fett will be one of three spin-off series for the mega popular Star Wars series, The Mandalorian. Joining The Book of Boba Fett on Disney+ will be Ahsoka and Rangers of the New Republic. The prequel Star Wars series will have Boba Fett at the center of the story, with Temuera Morrison being joined by fellow cast members Jordan Bolger and Sophie Thatcher in undisclosed roles.

The plot of the series has yet to be revealed, and it is currently unknown if the series will begin as a prequel or take place after the events of The Mandalorian season 2. Be sure to check back here at Chip and Co. for updates and all things Star Wars and Disney+!
