The world of Pandora is expanding once again, with new concept art for “Avatar: Fire and Ash,” the highly anticipated third film in James Cameron’s groundbreaking series, recently revealed at D23 Brazil. This exclusive look at the next chapter, officially titled “Avatar: Fire & Ash,” offers a tantalizing glimpse into the continued adventures of Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña) in the visually stunning and richly layered world of Pandora.

The newly released artwork transports us across Pandora’s diverse landscapes, from expansive skies to mysterious, glowing waters. In one piece, balloon-like flying vehicles drift through the clouds, hinting at thrilling new modes of travel above Pandora’s breathtaking terrain. Another striking piece features a group approaching a village of tent-like structures, with fires illuminating large, arching rock formations against a moody, cloudy sky—a scene that reflects the film’s theme of connection with the land and its people. The indigenous tribes of Brazil, James Cameron shared during a live-streamed appearance at D23 Brazil, were a source of inspiration for the film’s new elements, highlighting a cultural depth that’s central to “Avatar’s” storytelling.
“Avatar: Fire and Ash,” set to hit theaters on December 19, 2025, was filmed simultaneously with its predecessor, “Avatar: The Way of Water,” over a meticulous three-year period, with principal production wrapping in December 2020. This ambitious project sets the stage for an even grander narrative, with two more sequels planned for release in 2029 and 2031.

As excitement builds for “Fire and Ash,” fans can immerse themselves in Pandora closer to home. Pandora – The World of Avatar opened at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in 2017, captivating visitors with its floating mountains, bioluminescent forests, and thrilling rides like the fan-favorite Flight of Passage. And soon, a new “Avatar” area will bring the wonder of Pandora to Disney California Adventure, inviting more fans to experience the magic firsthand. With Cameron’s visionary storytelling and the imaginative artistry on display, the world of “Avatar” continues to captivate audiences, one breathtaking detail at a time.
