New Characters from Toy Story 4
Just a couple weeks ago we spent some time at the Pixar Studios getting to know more about Toy Story 4.  During that time we were treated to a 20-minute preview of Toy Story 4 along with a presentation of its history from Toy Story 1 up to the current release.

The Toy Story franchise brought us along on a fun adventure with our favorite Toy Gang, led by Woody and Buzz. A lot of us thought that Toy Story 3 would be the last we’d see them as Andy has given his beloved toys to a little girl, Bonnie.

In the first 3 films we were introduced to new characters that we grew to love or hate(talking about you Lotso).

Bo Peep, is also making a come-back in the newest film with an attitude!

Check out Bo and the newest characters to join the Toy Story Family:

The most anticipated character return has got to be the one of Bo Peep. In the third film, we come to know about characters that have lost along the Toy Story cinematic journey. Woody especially seems down at the loss of Bo Peep. Little did we know at the time that Bo would be back for another adventure and better than ever. Actress Annie Potts reprises her role of voicing Bo Peep. Not only do we see Bo with new a new look, she’s also got a new sense of self. With her shepherdess hook in hand, she appears confident and ready to take on a new adventure with her favorite sheriff, Woody. We can’t wait to see what she’s been up to!

Concepts for Forky

The most interesting addition to Bonnie’s toys is one that isn’t a toy at all. Forky is a spork that Bonnie transformed into a beloved play time pal during craft time. Forky is adamant about his purpose being salads, disposal, and not adventures. With Woody by his side, he is slowly accepting his purpose as Bonnie’s new favorite toy, up until he goes missing. Now it’s up to the gang to rescue him. Voiced by comedian, Tony Hale, Forky’s quirky personality is already winning us over.

In Toy Story 4, we get quite a chilling introduction to a pull-string doll name Gabby Gabby. This 1950’sesque doll that would be any little girl’s dream to own is not all as she seems. Her defected voice box leaves her with a slightly ominous tone instead of cheery. Gabby Gabby, voiced by Christina Hendricks, has been forgotten and left in an antique store for a very long time leaving her longing for a new voice box and someone to play with. Along with her band of ventriloquist dummies we’re sure to see Gabby Gabby stir up some mischief in this film.

The dynamic comedy duo of Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele bring to life the carnival prize duo of Ducky and Bunny. Although hilarious and super appropriately named, these two see the world a bit differently than Woody, Buzz, and their friends. Their one and only goal is to be won and going from town to town being attached to a game that was made to not be won, makes them see people differently as well. Ducky and Bunny are sure to bring the funny on their adventures with the other toys.

Perhaps the tiniest in stature of the toys, but big in personality is Bo Peep’s guide and right-hand woman, Giggle McDimples, voiced by Ally Maki. She fits perfectly on Bo’s shoulder and in the television spot for Toy Story 4, you can even see her on Woody’s shoulder too. For a small toy, she packs some huge energy and we can wait to see her on the big screen.

Canadian actor Keanu Reeves lends his voice to Canadian stunt-cycle toy, Duke Caboom. Although Duke has been kept in antique store with other forgotten toys, he will not let you forget he’s known for his stunts and poses. He’s got style. He’s got confidence. Is there anything Duke Caboom can’t do? Actually, he can’t do all the amazing stunts that are advertised in his own commercial! What’s a toy to do? We will find out this June.

LIGHTING — To create a sequence in Disney and Pixar’s “Toy Story 4,” the lighting department is responsible for lighting the scene in a way that supports the story—in this case, using shadow and color to help convey the tone of the sequence as it progresses from uncertain to mildly menacing. Directed by Josh Cooley, “Toy Story 4” opens in U.S. theaters on June 21, 2019. ©2019 Disney/Pixar. All Rights Reserved.

By far the creepiest finds in the antique store are Gabby Gabby’s team of ventriloquist dummies lead by head dummy, Benson. These antiques are voiceless, expressionless, and a bit nightmarish. The Bensons watch over the store and do as Gabby Gabby commands. We can’t wait to see how Woody, Buzz, Jessie, and their friends handle these toys.
