New Castaway Cay Challenge Medal Revealed Featuring Captain Minnie

If you’re one of the lucky ones heading to Castaway Cay this coming January to participate in the Castaway Cay Challenge following the Walt Disney World Marathon weekend, then you’re in for a big surprise as Disney Cruise Line and runDisney revealed the redesigned medal. Captain Minnie takes the helm on this stunning medal, as Disney Cruise Line continues to inspire the next generation of female captains.

Disney Cruise Line introduced Captain Minnie Mouse in April 2019 as a new character aboard the ships with hopes to inspire young girls to consider a career in the maritime industry.

The Castaway Cay Challenge takes place on Disney’s private island immediately following the marathon weekend during a 4-night cruise on the Disney Dream. To earn this challenge medal, you must be registered for one of the four events taking place during the marathon weekend and participate in the Castaway Cay 5K.
