Magic Kingdom Shake-Up: Cavalcade Moves to Mornings, Festival of Fantasy Drops to One Show Daily

If your Magic Kingdom strategy during your next trip to Walt Disney World includes staking out a parade spot between snacks and Lightning Lanes, it is time to redraw that park map. Starting April 6, entertainment schedules at Magic Kingdom are getting a notable shift, with both the Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade and Festival of Fantasy Parade adjusting their performance times.

The Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade is trading in its evening sparkle for a bright and early spotlight. Beginning April 6, the cavalcade will run twice daily at 10:30 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. This marks a big change from its current late-day appearances at 5:10 p.m. and 6:25 p.m., which will continue through April 5 before the switch. The cavalcade has been a fan-favorite since debuting in 2022, featuring nearly 30 Disney and Pixar characters including Pocahontas, Mulan, Raya, Mirabel, and even Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen, who joined earlier this year.

Meanwhile, the Festival of Fantasy Parade is scaling back its daily performances. Currently offered twice per day at 12 p.m. and 3 p.m., the parade will move to a single 3 p.m. showing starting April 6. That means guests will want to plan ahead if this daytime spectacular is on their must-do list, especially during busy spring and summer crowds when curb space fills up fast.

These changes could have a ripple effect on how guests plan their day. Morning cavalcades may pull crowds earlier toward parade routes, while the single Festival of Fantasy performance could become even more of a hot commodity by mid-afternoon. If you are visiting soon, it might be worth adjusting your rope drop or dining plans to catch your favorite characters on the move.
