Netflix Casts Hayley Atwell in Leading Role for New ‘Tomb Raider‘ Series. Captain America and Agent Carter star Hayley Atwell has been cast in another leading action role! Netflix has announced that Hayley Atwell will lead their new Tomb Raider anime series as Lara Croft. The new anime series was announced in January by Netflix and will follow the story where the video game reboot trilogy left off.

The Tomb Raider series script has been written by Tasha Huo (The Witcher: Blood Origin, Red Sonja) Huo will act as an executive producer alongside dj2 Entertainment founder and CEO Dmitri M. Johnson (Sonic the Hedgehog), Stephan Bugaj, and Howard Bliss. Jacob Robinson will be an executive producer for the series under his company Tractor Pants. The Tomb Raider video games have sold over 84 million copies over the last 25 years and were developed by Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montréal and published by Square Enix.
