Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar at The Landing at Disney Springs is serving up a new dish that will make your taste buds do a little dance. The new Nacho Picchu is piled high with Key Lime Tortilla chips smothered in beans, fresh salsa, a blend of shredded cheeses and a few other Chef favorites and finished off with your choice of chicken or chorizo. You can find this new Chef Special on the Full Menu.

This family-friendly waterfront outpost is housed in a 1940s airplane hangar turned bar. The restaurant serves casual fare with a daring flair and rare cocktail concoctions Some guests’ favorites include Rolling Boulder Sliders (brisket meatballs with tomato-bacon jam), Lao Che’s Revenge (Asian sticky wings) and Brody’s Brats.

Who is Jock Lindsey? You may remember him as Indiana Jones’ barnstorming pilot and owner of a pet snake named Reggie.  Love the explanation on how the Jock Lindsey Hangar Bar came to be located at Walt Disney World.

The two globetrotters stumbled on Disney Springs in 1938 while chasing down a mythology-based tip in central Florida. Attracted to the town’s natural springs and lush terrain, Jock bought some waterfront property and eventually settled down, piloting seaplane tours across the fast-growing Sunshine State.

Jock eventually built an airplane hangar, air tower and runway, and invited fellow members of The Society of Explorers and Adventurers to pay him a visit. His home base soon became a popular stopover and watering hole for world travelers and locals alike.
