The Muppet Movie: The Nearly 35th Anniversary Edition is coming to Blu-ray August 13, 2013. Disney has announced that the original “The Muppets Movie” from 1979 will be released on Blu-ray for the first time this August to celebrate the film’s 35th anniversary. Since the 35th anniversary isn’t actually until 2014, the movie is titled “the nearly 35th anniversary” since the release will be a little early. The Blu-ray release will also include a digital copy, but will not come with a DVD version of the film.
The Muppet Movie is the “ultimate frogs-to-riches story.” With this new Blu-ray, you can enjoy the story of how the Muppets got their start in high-definition picture and sound. You’ll get to see all your favorite Muppets including Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie, Gonzo, and more! Plus, this Blu-ray copy will feature hilarious bonus extras including an all-new Frog-E-Oke sing-along with your favorite Muppet songs.
Are you looking forward to this re-release of the original “The Muppet Movie?”
