The CDC recently announced guidelines for cruise lines to resume operations. Cruise Lines will need to pass certain requirements and have test sailings before passengers can return to sailing.
Cruise Lines are canceling December sailings while they prepare to return to sailing.
Norwegian Cruise Lines is canceling all sailings through December 31, 2020.
Royal Caribbean Cruise Line also canceled all of its December cruises. The cruise line said the cancellations were necessary to prepare for restarting cruises. “We are eager to welcome our guests back onboard while keeping their safety, as well as that of our crew members, our number one priority. We’re committed to taking the time needed to do things right”
Carnival Cruise Line is canceling all sailings in December that depart from Port Canaveral and Miami.
Cruise lines will need to train crew members, test crew and passengers, implement new health and safety protocols, and simulate sailings to test those protocols. They will then need to apply for a Conditional Sailing Certificate.
Canceling cruises through December will give these cruise lines more time to make the changes needed for them to resume operations.
