‘Ms. Marvel’ Promo Art Teases Major Power Changes for Kamala Khan in New Disney+ Series. Marvel fans are not happy after new promotional art seems to confirm rumors that Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, is having her powers altered in the upcoming live-action series. Reports from those closer to production hinted that the studio is aiming to “prevent confusion” regarding the standard “embiggen” powers Kamala is known to have in the comics and animated projects and the iconic abilities of Fantastic 4‘s Dr. Reed Richards.

The new artwork features a more construct-like ability, notably similar to what we would expect from DC’s Lantern Corp. Many fans feel that if this power change is confirmed to be a true shift for Khan’s character that it is both an insult to her as a hero and to fans who may be seen as “easily confused” with Marvel Studios setting up the expectation that fans couldn’t handle a similar power or ability between two distinct heroes that may be joining the MCU in Phase 4.
