In addition to the upcoming Spiderman: Into the Spider-verse, Sony is working on two new projects: a sequel and an all-female spin-off.
Joaquim Dos Santos of Netflix’s Voltron series is set to direct the sequel, which is being written by David Callaham, who wrote The Expendables and is working on Wonder Woman 1984. It is not known what the plot will be, but Spiderman: Into the Spider-verse and its hero, Miles Morales, reportedly set some things up.
Lauren Montgomery, also of Voltron, is a potential director for the all-female spinoff, but nothing has been confirmed. Also not confirmed are any plot points, but one would expect to see Spider-Gwen, Spider-Woman, and possibly Silk. Bek Smith (Zoo) is writing this project.
Amy Pascal, producer of the most recent Spidey outing, as well as the live action films, will produce both of these projects.
Spidey fans should have no problem finding something to watch.
